Welcome!

Voices is a Toronto-based choir founded in 1996 by Ron K. M. Cheung, its current artistic director. Since then, the choir has become one of the finest community chamber choirs in Toronto, receiving awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival, the Ontario Provincial Music Festival, and the 2000 International Choral Kathaumixw.  The choir has also appeared on television, including a Christmas Special on Vision Television.  In addition to their regular performances in Toronto, the choir was invited to perform at the 1998 Association of Canadian Choral Conductors Conference in Halifax, as well as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Classical Connection Series and other music festivals and community events.

Voices’ programs include a diverse repertoire from the renaissance to the 20th century, featuring both well-known and less familiar works by composers of the past.  The choir also premieres original works by Canadian composers.

Voices promotes a program of community involvement. This includes performance opportunities for aspiring musicians as guest artists, and collaborations with other choral groups in the community.

Voices is continually seeking individual or corporate sponsorship to showcase promising artists and ensembles in the community, and for their next recording project.
